FLEURS DE VIGNE
The Chablis and Grand Auxerrois wine festival
Week-end of 24 and 25 May 2025
The festival Fleurs de Vigne (Flowers Of the Vine) takes place every year in Auxerre on the last weekend in May. A true gourmet experience, it's a must for all epicureans.
Wine-tourism activities will be on offer on Saturday 24 May in the town of Auxerre and in the vineyards, including guided tours, a sensory trail at Saint-Germain Abbey and a wine bus. The day will close with a country-style evening at the Abbaye Saint-Germain, accompanied by the winegrowers of Coulanges-la-Vineuse.
On Sunday May 25, Fleurs de vigne will be taking over the quays of the Yonne in Auxerre. Winegrowers and merchants will be on hand to offer tastings of their wines. Alongside them, local producers will be offering a range of local delicacies.
In late May/early June, the vineyards of Burgundy are tinged with a subtle white colour: that of vine flowers. The flowers open, then give way to the future grape grain. A discreet but important flower. Flowering is indeed a key stage in the annual cycle of the vine and the best climatic conditions are expected at this time. Traditionally, it is said that the harvest will take place 100 days after this flowering. Fleurs de Vigne represents a key period for the vineyard, synonymous with blossoming and rebirth!
